Saw this interesting reprint of an INC.com article that talks about the phenomenal growth of the pet sitting franchise opportunity Fetch! Pet Care. The business started out 6 years ago as home-based business with one location and now has 200 franchise locations across the USA and pulled in over $6 million in revenues last year. The article also notes that the business’s founder not only started from a home based office, but continues to run the business today from home!

This article also  highlights some of the inherent advantages of working or starting a business from home including low start-up costs and low overhead – especially in this current challenging economic environment.  It also notes that home-based businesses count for nearly 50% of the estimated 27 million small businesses in the US today with the trend growing.
